Managing Partner, Chemstaff

Peter Millett is an entrepreneur and technologist who has co-founded two technology businesses and an engineering consulting company over the last 10 years. His latest company developed a platform for monitoring and detecting contamination in water utility systems in a joint venture with another start-up. The project raised over $25M in venture capital and was sold to GE in 2008. Prior to this, he was responsible for the development and commercialization of a $100M portfolio of early stage research and innovation at EPRI for the electric utility industry. His first two businesses ventures came out of the EPRI R&D program. The first of which was one of the earliest uses of the web for monitoring industrial plants. The technology won an R&D 100 award in 2000, judged to be one of the 100 most technologically significant new products of that year. He also helped commercialize many other technologies through licensing partnerships that produce products that are now widely used by energy companies throughout the world.

Peter has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and a Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Management from Boston University. He has authored co-authored many technical papers and holds several patents. He is currently a Managing Partner of ChemStaff, an engineering consulting firm based in Chicago.
