Company turnarounds have been Matt’s business focus since 1970. With the help of others, he has led organizations from declining profits, sales, cash flow and other serious problems to growth and profitability. In some cases, he has facilitated the sale of the company. Half of his major assignments have been family-owned companies. Since 1995, Matt has worked as a Certified Turnaround Professional, of which there are currently only approximately 175 in North America. As testament to his work, he has been RE-ENGAGED by several of his clients and/or continued as a Director or Consultant after being CEO. Matthew Burns served as a US Naval Officer in the Destroyers and holds an AB from Tufts University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
