Scott Patch
Bio: Scott is the President and Founder of Refill Management Systems, LLC. Based on his experience using and applying electronic health records to clinical practice, he developed a decision support tool for managing the internal process of refilling medication. Dr. Patch is also a family physician at InterMed, PA. providing primary care services in the Yarmouth office. At InterMed, he also provides consultation on workflow and usage of the electronic health record and is helping manage its implementation. Previously, he was the managing physician at Central Maine Family Practice. Prior to entering medicine and while working at J. Makowski Associates, Inc., Scott managed fuel supply planning and operations for Ocean State Power, a major New England power plant with an annual fuel budget of $60 million. He holds a Medical Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard University.
Description of company: Refill Management Systems, LLC is developing and marketing Protocol Rx which is a patent pending decision support software tool which significantly reduces the burden of determining the appropriateness of refill requests. The product is designed to increase efficiency in the office practice while improving customer satisfaction through faster approvals of refills. RMS is working closely with WInxnet, Inc., a Portland based software development and network services firm, to develop this product and interface it with national electronic health record systems.
